Virtual Terminal FAQ
The purpose of this page to provide the answer to the frequently asked questions about the new Virtual Terminal application and features.

| When will the new Virtual Terminal (VT) be available? | The new VT is available immediately for all VT Legacy users. You may log into the new VT using your existing credentials (Storename, Username and Password). |

| Is it required to setup and use Multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access the new VT? | Yes. MFA is required to access the new VT, MFA helps protect both your account and customer information available through the portal and is part of cyber security requirements. |
| How the Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) should be setup properly? | Instructions for first-time login and MFA setup are available in the first-time login section of the User Guide: First Time MFA Login |
| What Authenticator should be used? | You may use any authenticator app you prefer, provided it meets the requirements: Type: Time-based Algorithm: SHA512 OTP Digits: 6 Interval: 30 seconds |
| Can I use a browser-based authenticator app instead of a mobile authenticator app? | You can use either a mobile authenticator app on iOS or Android, or a browser-based TOTP authenticator application that supports the requirements above. Specific advise around browser-based setup can be found here: Browser-based Authenticator Setup |
| What devices could be used to perform MFA login? | Both mobile devices and browser authentication apps could be used for MFA. |
| Can I create additional users and assign permissions in Virtual Terminal 2.0? | Yes. You can create additional users and assign permissions in Virtual Terminal 2.0. Instructions are available here: User Management |
| Will both VT version be available in parallel? | Yes. Both applications will remain available until the legacy Virtual Terminal is decommissioned by the end of January 2027. The exact date will be shared in due course. To avoid session conflicts or access issues, we recommend not logging in to both applications at the same time. |
| Can we use email based two-factor authentication (2FA)? | No. Email-based 2FA is not a compliant solution and will not be used in the future. |
| Will my transaction history, schedules and created users carry over to the new VT? | There are no changes to your gateway account. All your data, payment schedules and created users will be accessible via the new VT. |
| Where can I see the recurring transactions report for my gateway scheduled payments? | This feature is planned for the early October 2026 update to Virtual Terminal 2.0 and will be available before the legacy VT is decommissioned. Until then, please continue to use the recurring payments reporting in the legacy VT. |
