Wildcard Searching

The documents search endpoint supports wildcard searching with the ? and * characters.

? = matches an arbitrary character

* = matches any number of arbitrary characters (including zero)

Known issues with wildcard searching

If you experience any problems with wildcards such as returning zero results when you know your search should match documents. Please try to use "?*" together.

Example Searches

Search for a any documents with an idReference

? searches for any starting character and * allows the rest of the idReference to be any string of any length.

idReference=?*

Search for document titles starting with INV

title=INV*

Search for document titles starting with 3 unknown characters followed by -12345 such as INV-12345, DOC-12345 or TXT-12345

title=???-12345

Search for documents with an idReference beginning with 9214

idReference=9214*
